This programme provides your managers and team leaders with essential skills for being trauma responsive and able to handle demanding days and sensitive conversations. The focus is on how to create safety, address immediate needs, and ensure the wellbeing of both staff and the people they support.

The programme includes prior learning online and a practical, in-person skills-based course

Managers and team leaders will be better able to:

  • Recognise and avoid trauma and shame triggers, and reduce re-traumatisation risks
  • Learn how to lead structured and trauma informed briefings and handovers, building resilience and peer support
  • Conduct a trauma informed ‘dynamic debriefing’ to identify immediate support and safety needs
  • Promote reflective practice and learning habits with TAG Models
  • Be trauma sensitive when reviewing adverse occurrences and complaints, plus key considerations during staff absence and on return to work
  • Identifying the small things that make a big difference for team member and the people they support in demanding and stressful times
